My son has attended MES since Kindergarten and is now moving on to middle school. We have loved every moment at Macedonia and could not have asked for a better elementary school experience. We have had some amazing teachers!!

I am a mom of a Macedonia Elem. first grader and a teacher with my Masters & Specialists Degree in Education. We moved to this school district because of this amazing school! Just take a look at the test scores and you will see the proof of the teachers & parents dedication to the childrens' achievement.

My daughter is in kindergarten and the first 3 weeks of school were fine here. Her daily progress sheets come back fine, even now. Apparently my daughter had trouble with her numbers so she was put into a smaller group and had testing for her numbers and letters every few weeks well after 1-2 times they recommend her for the next level which means your child is not learning enough. However when I have a meeting with the school counselor he states he has never met my child, but that she only knows 6 of her alphabet and sounds, when I told him that she knows 22 of her alphabet including sounds the letters make he didn't even seem to listen they insist on their own testing even though our results are so dramatically different that you would think as a psychologist he would suggest another method of testing but no instead they send me home with some forms so they know her background information that is supposed to help them help my child. This packet includes very personal information that is not a schools business. This is insane! Don't let you child get railroaded by this school. On the other hand Parent involvement is #1!

Great school & faculty. I would like to see the gifted program enhanced.

I have two children in this school and every year there is tons of parent involvement! I don't understand why someone would say there isn't. Maybe the specific teacher they had did not encourage it. Every teacher we have had has been all for parent involvement. I practically lived at the school when my now 3rd grader was in kindergarten. The teachers are nice and loving. The office staff, the nurse and all the other staff are great also. My kids are begging me to put them in the after school program that's how much they like being there. It was over crowded but that was not the schools' fault, it was because this county was being over developed and the schools couldn't handle all the kids. A new school was built which brought much relief and now Maceondia is also expanding.

We transferred our 3 children from a private school to Macedonia and are so very pleased! We have found an exceptional faculty and staff. Both the teachers and the administrators are super involved with the school as a whole, not just their classrooms and positions. They encourage and appreciate parental involvement. The entire school is a wonderful, happy, learning environment with a great vibe. Even the front office and nurse knows almost every child by name and they are kind, patient, and compassionate. I will sing the praises off the cafeteria staff, etc. They care about each child too. We are incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful learning environment. We truly believe we could not have found the resources combined with the experienced teachers in a private school

Much improved over the last three years! Fixing the massive overcrowding has turned this into a superb school.

Great school!! the teachers are very good as a whole. They also will customize your childs teaching to match there needs. This has been a huge part of our children's success at this school. Parent involvement at this school is really encouraged and well received. Great new security feature at visitor check in with every visitor's photo taken and printed directly on the visitors badge. Pta is really involved in a positive way at this school also. I really couldn't think of a better place to send your children to school. Great community and surrounding area as well!

I am a teacher at Macedonia and I take great offense at our staff being called 'pitiful' in one of these posts. Macedonia does NOT have a military like environment or discipline. I have worked in different schools and in other states and Macedonia is by far the most caring school I have ever experienced. Do not listen to reviews from parents who are obviously disgruntled for some unknown reason. Macedonia is a great school. Visit sometime and see how many 'unhappy' children you see. It is a happy, active learning environment.

I love Macedonia's teachers and staff. It has been a part of my family for almost ten years. Speaking from experience, parent volunteers are always needed, sought after, and welcomed. Both of my children have thrived at the school. As for the person who wrote, 'The school (at the direction of the principal) was not very open to parental involvement,' should check their facts before writing something on the Internet. The school averages about 30 volunteers per day! Our parents are concerned about their children's education and want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Macedonia has alot of issues. Security being number one. Military atmosphere, More emphasis on disciplining the children than education. Kids should be encouraged to go the school, not dread it. Too much non-educational down time. The principle should rethink her priorities. Instead of working with the teachers, the teachers are intimidated by her.

9 out of 10, that's a laugh. I have over the course of the past few years three children attend MES. I have never seen a more 'Circle The Wagons' mentality then at this school. Whenever an issue arises they take no responsibility for anything. My third grader was falling behind in class and the Prinipal in our meeting was blaming my child (a third grader). The Principal had the audacity to suggest my child might have a learning disability, not that the Teacher may have a teaching disability. Very unhappy with MES and its lack of leadership. The Principal does not listen to parent concerns, and the Teachers will not speak up in parent / teacher meetings. The Teachers that speak up usually don't last. 9 out of 10, only if your criteria is unhappy kids and a pitiful staff.

No kudos from this parent. State test scores should not be the only priority. Unfortunately, we came out of private school hoping for more....What we found was a lack of creativity and a lack of caring. Great test scores! Hooray! Unhappy children, not so great.

We found the school unable to adequately handle it's recent growth. The school (at the direction of the principal) was not very open to parental involvement nor were they overally concerned with our child's safety & academic growth. Excellent PE staff & friendly lunch staff, teachers adequate at best.

Both of my children attend this wonderful school. The teachers they have had have been extremely caring, very helpful, and eager to assist each child in every way possible. Being a chairperson for the PTA, I have had the opportunity to meet and speak to each teacher and staff member, most of the parents, and many of the children, throughout the school. I can honestly say we have a great group of educators, a wonderful group of kids, and parents who take the time to be involved in their children's education. It's a school where I can rest easy knowing that my children are in good hands and will be receiving the kind of education that will help them make their dreams reality in the years to come.
